Texas Memory Systems to Host Tutorial on Storage Performance Testing at Storage Networking World
Storage Networking World (SNW) conference, the world’s largest and foremost storage networking event

Texas Memory Systems, Inc., makers of the World’s Fastest Storage®, today announced that Mr. Woody Hutsell, Executive Vice President, will host an in-depth technical tutorial on storage performance testing at the Storage Networking World (SNW) conference, the world’s largest and foremost storage networking event. SNW will be held April 16-19, 2007 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt, San Diego, California. The Storage Performance Testing tutorial will be held Monday, April 16 from 4:40–5:30 p.m.

Conducting storage performance tests is essential to selecting storage for tiered environments. Tiered storage systems allow enterprises to better manage IT costs, data security, data protection and system performance. Tiered storage establishes a hierarchy of storage systems matched to differing data access requirements. For example, mission critical and high-transaction applications would typically be stored on high performance solid state disks while old emails would typically be indexed and archived to tape.

Participants in the Storage Performance Testing session will learn about the role of storage benchmarks in storage performance testing, the role of IOMeter and other storage benchmarking tools when evaluating storage performance, and the role of operating system performance monitoring tools for judging storage performance.

Woody Hutsell joined Texas Memory Systems (TMS) in 2000 as Marketing Director and today is the company's Executive Vice President as well as a member of the Board of Directors.
