FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CONTACT: Texas Memory Systems to Participate in World’s
Largest Interoperability Demo
Houston, TX – Oct. 29, 2002 – Texas
Memory Systems, producer of the World’s Fastest Storageâ,
announced today that it will work with more than 40 storage networking
companies at the Storage Networking World (SNW) conference in Orlando,
Florida this week to stage the world’s largest storage networking
interoperability demonstration. The
Interoperability and Solutions Demo is a regular highlight of the
biannual conference and is organized by corporate members of the Storage
Networking Industry Association (SNIA). As the only solid state storage company
participating, Texas Memory Systems will exhibit the RamSan-210 solid
state disk. The RamSan-210 uses SDRAM as primary storage media and
includes redundant, internal UPS systems and backup disk drives to
ensure non-volatility. This disk is incredibly fast, allowing for 700
MB/s of internal bandwidth, 20 microseconds access time, and 200,000
I/Os per second. Used to cache high-traffic data, the RamSan can
accelerate SAN performance up to 10x. "The hard work of SNIA member companies, such as Texas Memory
Systems, is the key to success for the SNW Interoperability and
Solutions Demo. Our members
spent countless hours organizing the demonstration, and their efforts
are helping end users to easily manage multi-vendor storage
networks," said Sheila Childs, Chairperson of the SNIA Board of
Directors. SNIA member companies participating in the
demonstration include: Adaptec, Agilent, Akara, AppIQ, BMC Software,
Brocade, Chaparral Network Storage, CIENA Corporation, Cisco Systems,
CNT, CommVault Systems, Computer Associates, Crossroads Systems, Decru,
EMC, Empirix, Emulex Corporation, Eurologic Systems, Fujitsu Softek, HP,
Hitachi Data Systems, IBM Corporation, INRANGE Technologies, Intel
Corporation, InterSAN, KOM Networks, Legato Systems, LSI Logic Storage
Systems, McDATA, Microsoft, NEC Corporation, NeoScale Systems, Netreon,
Network Appliance, Nortel Networks, Overland Storage, QLogic, Quantum
Corporation, SANRAD, Spectra Logic Corporation, StoreAge Networking
Technologies, Sun Microsystems, Texas Memory Systems, VERITAS Software,
