RAM-SAN’s Certified Solaris Ready

Houston, Texas—May 17, 2001—Texas Memory Systems announced today that the RAM-SAN 500 and RAM-SAN 520 have both completed Solaris Ready certification. Solaris Ready is a program designed to show customers that third-party products developed for Sun's network computing environment meet specific standards for ease-of-installation, use, management, and network interoperability.

Texas Memory Systems, a Sun Development Partner, relies heavily on Sun equipment during development of its industry leading RAM-SAN solid state disks. “When our products are ready for testing, Sun servers are the first line of testing,” said Paul Kaler Vice President of Technology for Texas Memory Systems.

“The RAM-SAN is only the second Fibre Channel solid state disk to complete Solaris Ready Certification,” according to Woody Hutsell Marketing Director for Texas Memory Systems, “Most Sun resellers and customers will only deal with products that are Solaris Ready certified, it provides a level of comfort that the product will work in their environment.”
Solaris Ready testing is coordinated by KeyLabs, Inc., a third party vendor. Self-certification tests are completed by the vendor and then submitted to KeyLabs and Sun for evaluation.
