Basingstoke, 18th September 2008 - Dedicated storage distributor, Hammer, has announced that Texas Memory Systems (TMS) is the latest vendor addition to its expanding portfolio, in a deal which is Europe-wide. The signing of TMS, a leading manufacturer of enterprise solid-state disks, will allow Hammer to address the growing solid-state disk market, with high-performance, and the world’s fastest, solid-state storage systems. Based on RAM and Flash technologies, TMS’s RamSan solid state disks (SSD) are used to accelerate mission critical applications in commercial and governmental enterprises worldwide, and the twelfth generation solid state disk product delivers a level of performance previously unavailable in a commercial storage product. "The solid state disk market is experiencing rapid growth in the European market and we cannot imagine a better partner than Hammer to introduce our products to new resellers and subsequently into new enterprise accounts”, said Woody Hutsell, Executive Vice President of Texas Memory Systems. Hutsell continued: “Hammer is partnered with many of the storage industry's leading manufacturers and we are delighted to be the first Enterprise solid state disk solution that Hammer presents to its customers." Originally, the company designed systems to meet the needs of the U.S. defense industry, and today Texas Memory Systems is the epitome of ultimate performance and expertise, yet simultaneously, simplicity. Paul Hickingbotham, Hammer’s Solutions Manager, said: “With an ever increasing amount of applications relying on fast performance and response times, the requirement for SSD has never been greater. With the reduction in cost continuing, Hammer sees the future of SSD as being paramount in the SME and enterprise markets. Texas Memory Systems (TMS) has long been the leader in the high-end SSD market, and is a key addition to Hammer's storage portfolio. Their alliances with other key Hammer vendors such as QLogic, Emulex and Falconstor, make TMS a very good fit for our customer base.” Hammer’s managing director, James Ward, said: “There are huge opportunities with solid-state technologies, and we at Hammer are looking forward to enhancing SDD offerings to our resellers. To have a solution-based system which is first to market is a great opportunity for us, and enhances our solid-state portfolio.” Notes to editors: About Hammer |
