Texas Memory Systems Joins the Storage Networking
Industry Association (SNIA)
Houston, Texas—May 30, 2001—Texas Memory
Systems announced today that it has joined as an Associate Member of the
Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA). SNIA and its members are
dedicated to ensuring that storage networks become complete and trusted
solutions across the IT community. The SNIA works toward this goal by
forming and sponsoring technical work groups, by producing the Storage
Networking World Conference series, by building and maintaining a vendor
neutral Technology Center in Colorado Springs, and by promoting
activities that expand the breadth and quality of the storage networking
market.
“The SNIA
plays an important role in the development and education of the storage
networking market,” commented Woody Hutsell Marketing Director for
Texas Memory Systems, “and as a vendor in the storage community it is
incumbent upon us to participate in the industry through participation
in SNIA.” Over 200 storage companies are members of the SNIA.
“With the explosion of interest in storage, has come some complexity
that the industry has never experienced”, said Holly Frost CEO of
Texas Memory Systems, “SNIA is doing an admirable job trying to
provide some guidance for both vendors and users of storage. We are
strong supporters of the SNIA efforts to create interoperability test
suites for the storage industry and look forward to participating in the
Technology Center located in Colorado Springs.”
Texas Memory
Systems will be a part of the Storage Networking World Interoperability
Lab and plans to exhibit at the Storage Networking World Conference
October 22-24, 2001 in Orlando, FL.
About Texas
Memory Systems
Texas Memory Systems (TMS) has specialized in high bandwidth, low
latency, I/O intensive storage systems since 1978. TMS products
were originally designed to meet the needs of the U.S. defense industry,
and now this advanced technology is available for mainstream computer
and storage applications. While the primary focus of our products
has been speed, we achieve this speed without resorting to overly
complex circuitry. This emphasis on simplicity allows TMS to
deliver outstanding performance with an easily understood and yet highly
configurable system. Texas Memory Systems is a member of the Fibre
Channel Industry Association (FCIA), the Storage Networking Industry
Association (SNIA), the DAFS Collaborative, and is partnered with
Oracle, Sun, Hewlett Packard, and FalconStor in order to deliver the
World’s Fastest Storage to the enterprise.
